Learn how administrators and managers receive, find, and process digital sick notes in Simployer Classic.
What is required to receive digital sick notes automatically in Simployer Classic?
For a digital sick note to appear automatically for the correct employee in Simployer Classic, the following information and actions are required:
- The employee must have a national identity number registered in their employee profile
- The department must have a company registration number registered under My company
- The employee must have approved the sick note and sent it to their employer in NAV
Simployer Classic retrieves sick notes from NAV once per hour. If you have not received a sick note in Simployer Classic, check that the employee has approved and sent it in NAV.
Step 1: Find digital sick notes in Simployer Classic
Go to Sick leave > My employees if you are a manager, or use the administrator view.
Sick notes imported through Altinn have Altinn listed as their source. Use the Status field to filter the sick notes by status.
Step 2: Process a digital sick note in Simployer Classic
Click Options, and then select Process.
Step 3: Choose how to handle the digital sick note in Simployer Classic
- An ongoing or initiated sick leave case exists: Simployer Classic automatically links the sick note to the ongoing absence, and the manager receives a notification. You normally do not need to take any action unless the link is incorrect.
- A previous sick leave case has ended: Simployer Classic displays a message about the ended absence. Choose whether to link the sick note to the existing, ended absence or start a new absence based on the date in the sick note. If the employee has both self-certified absence and a sick note, first create a sick leave case for the employee. Then return to the sick note and link it to the ongoing sick leave case.
- The employee does not have an active sick leave case: You can start a new sick leave case directly from the sick note. Simployer Classic automatically adds the case to the employee’s sick leave page with the same start date as the sick note. If the employee has both self-certified absence and a sick note, first create the sick leave case. Then link the sick note to the ongoing sick leave case.
