How do I change or cancel a signing process after sending it in Simployer One?

Modified on Mon, 26 Oct at 11:40 AM

Can I edit a signing process after sending it in Simployer One?

No. You can’t edit a signing process in Simployer One directly after you send it. Direct editing is only available for drafts.

To change a signing process that has been sent, revoke it. You can then correct the new draft that Simployer One creates and send it again. You can revoke a signing process while it is active, before all required signing parties have signed. A sealed signing process can’t be revoked.

Tip

Review the document, participants and signing order carefully before you send, to avoid having to revoke and resend.

How do I revoke a signing process and send a corrected version in Simployer One?

Use this option when the document or signing setup is wrong, for example when you need to correct the document, update participants or change the signing order.

  1. Select Documents → Signing processes.
  2. Open the Active tab and find the signing process.
  3. Click the three-dot menu (Actions).
  4. Select Revoke signing.
  5. In the What needs to change? dialog, select The document or signing setup is wrong.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Confirm with Revoke & edit document.

The signing process is revoked and all signing parties are notified. Simployer One automatically creates a new draft named “Copy of [name]” and opens it. The revoked signing process is removed from the list. Make your corrections, then send the draft again. Everyone must sign the corrected version.

How do I cancel a signing process without sending a new one in Simployer One?

Use this option when you no longer need the document.

  1. Select Documents → Signing processes.
  2. Open the Active tab and find the signing process.
  3. Click the three-dot menu (Actions).
  4. Select Revoke signing.
  5. In the What needs to change? dialog, select Nothing, just revoke.
  6. Click Continue.

The signing process is cancelled, the document is discarded and no new draft is created. All signing parties are notified. The employee or candidate stays in Simployer One, and you can create a new signing process for them later.

Who is notified when a signing process is revoked in Simployer One?

When a signing process is revoked in Simployer One, all signing parties get an email that the signing process has been cancelled. This applies whether or not a new draft is created.
