Who can manage custom fields by default?
By default, only users with the Owner permission can create, edit, and archive custom fields in Simployer One. If you also want users with the Administrator permission to manage custom fields, you need to update their access.
How do I let Admins manage custom fields?
- In the main menu, select Settings.
- Under Roles and permissions, select Permissions.
- On the Default roles tab, find Administrator and click Edit default permissions.
- In the Default admin permissions window, turn on Manage custom fields.
Changes take effect immediately.
To give only one Administrator this permission, click Show [number] people under Administrator, then click Edit Permissions next to that person.
Note
Once this is turned on, Administrators can create, edit, and archive custom fields in the same way as Owners. The setting as default applies to all administrators, but you can still customize permissions for individual administrators.
