What is meant by work of equal value?

Modified on Fri, 14 Nov at 1:01 PM

Work of equal value refers to work that, based on an overall assessment, can be considered equivalent. To determine whether work is of equal value, a comprehensive evaluation must be made, taking into account the qualifications required to perform the work and other relevant factors, such as effort, responsibility, and working conditions. The value of the work must be assessed through an objective comparison of the positions, and the assessment should be based on the actual job descriptions. The employees’ individual qualifications or how they perform the work are not relevant when evaluating whether two employees perform work of equal value. Seniority should also not be included in the assessment.
