Managers can now hire and onboard their own team members

We’ve made it easier for managers to handle hiring end-to-end—without needing full HR admin rights.

What this means for you

  • Faster hiring cycles: managers can move from candidate to signed contract to onboarding without waiting for HR.
  • Less HR overhead: HR teams can focus on strategic work, while managers take ownership of their own hires.
  • Configurable control: you decide whether all managers, or just specific ones, get this responsibility.

What managers can now do

  • Create candidates as their own direct reports
  • Initiate e-signing of documents
  • Move candidates to “new hire”
  • Start onboarding

These actions are limited to a manager’s direct reports.

How to enable

Admins can switch this on in by navigating to Settings > Permissions, either as a company-wide default or for individual managers.

FAQs

  • Can managers see all candidates? No, only their own direct reports.
  • Can managers change templates or onboarding flows? No, the templates remain admin-controlled by users with the Owner or Admin role.
  • Does this affect existing admin hiring flows? No, everything is still the same there.
  • Do these changes impact the Recruitment product? No, this applies only to the features within HRM One.
  • Couldn't managers already create signing processes? Yes, this setting already existed, but only for all managers. We've moved that setting into this UI and made sure that it could be overridden per manager.
